We use Google Classroom as our online learning platform.
Google Classroom is a website where children can access and complete school work online.
Teachers will set work in Google Classroom and children can then login, complete, and submit their work.

What do I need to be able to access Google Classroom?
You will need a device that connects to the Internet with a web browser such as Google Chrome.
We recommend using a device with a keyboard such as a laptop to make it easier to type, although tablets and other devices can also be used.

Is there an App available?
The Google Classroom App is available for free on the Apple App Store and Android Play Store.

How do I login to Google Classroom?
You can login to Google Classroom by clicking here: www.google.com/classroom or by opening the App.
You will need to sign-in with your Humberstone Academy email address and password.

Do I need a class code?
You do not need a class code to join your class. Once you are signed into Google Classroom, your class will be displayed to you.

I can see my class. Now what do I do?
Once you have clicked on your class you will be taken to the class activity stream.
This section displays announcements and updates from your class teacher. It is the first place to look at in the morning to find out what is planned for the day ahead.
Along the top of the screen you will also see the “Classwork” section. This is where you will find work that has been set for your child. From here you can open up resources the teacher has uploaded and complete work that has been set.

I can’t see a Google Classroom icon in my Google account.
Why is Google telling me I am not allowed to access Classroom?
Please make sure that you are logged in with your Humberstone Academy login details.
If you have your own personal Google or Gmail Email address then you need to sign out of that account first. Then login with your Humberstone account. You will then be able to see Google Classroom.

Is Google Classroom safe?
Humberstone Academy Google Classroom is a safe platform for your children to use and is only accessible by users of Humberstone Academy.
