Assessment and Performance
At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) the children are assessed in the core subjects of Reading, Writing and Mathematics. The children do not sit formal tests at this stage of their education.
In Year 1 children are screened for their phonic knowledge. Their ability to decode words. If a child does not meet the standard in year one they are screened again in year two. This information is shared with parents at the end of the year.
At the end of the Reception year children are assessed to see if they have met a ‘Good Level of Development’. This information is shared with parents at the end of the Reception year.
