During the Spring term, we read the story 'Tiger Walk' by Dianne Hofmeyr.
We have enjoyed lots of things linking our learning to the story. We have found out about tigers, learnt a variety of art skills and created our very own books about our own fears.
Below are some daily activities we would like all F2 children to follow. We are really keen for you to share your child's learning with us. A big thank you to all the parents who have done this so far. It is fantastic to see the wonderful work the children have been doing at home. You can share your child's learning with us on Twitter. If you have any questions or need any further support then please contact the school office.
Please make time to read with you child every day. You can visit the Oxford Owl website, it contains lots of exciting stories for your child to read using their phonics. Just click on the link below to register.
We also recommend the free interactive phonics games available on line. These are fun and exciting resources which will support your child with their reading. Just click on the links below.
We have been learning a new sound every day. We are thinking of words with these sounds in them and reading and writing sentences.
We have been learning to form our letters correctly as we write. Please watch the video below with your child to ensure they are forming each letter correctly.
The story we have been reading at school is all about a Tiger coming to life out of a painting. He then takes a little boy called Tom on an adventure to lots of different places. Tom is afraid at first, but gradually realises he isn't scared anymore. The story is called 'Tiger Walk'.
We have been learning about how to write sentences. The children have been focusing on using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We always make sure we read back what we have written to check that it makes sense. The children have written their own stories about being scared just like Tom and the Tiger.
